My wife’s birthday treat
Well the reviews weren’t wrong we had an amazing experience with Tomeu and his crew. The olive bread starter with spicy mayo was truly scrumptious as was the Cava that accompanied it. This was then followed by a seaweed and anchovy cracker topped with roast pepper, red pepper sauce, olive oil and tapioca snow which was an unusual and tasty combination. After this we had a dish of avocado, basil, fresh tomato, Menorcan cheese all served with pressed cold tomato juice. To follow that we were served a sea bass ceviche with rice wine vinegar and tomato pearls. We were then presented with one of the most intriguing dishes of the evening, slow-baked watermelon served with tuna and sea weed powder, sesame seeds and lemon and mint mayo. Something else! Only 3 more courses to go…… The next explosion of the senses was due to the baked aubergine served on a bed of coconut cream and foie gras, sprinkled with nuts. Now it was time for the pièce de résistance and Tomeu’s signature dish, duck and pork cannelloni served in a mushroom sauce – OMG! This was all followed by two desserts – one being yellow melon with a lemon, mint and herb jus and the other a very very smooth chocolate cream topped with sugar ice and popcorn kernels. This was all washed down with a selection of Mallorcan wines recommended by the highly attentive waitress, all suggested to complement the dishes. Wow what an evening and in comparison to other gourmet tastings available on the island extremely reasonably priced. What are you waiting for? Book now!!!! We’ll be back……
